Inca Trail Express to Machu Picchu

11bird Winay Wayna

The 2 days/1-night Inca Trail (also known as the short Inca Trail) is a relatively undemanding hike including a visit to the spectacular ruins of Wiñay Wayna ( the name of an epidendrum Orchid meaning “Forever Young” in Quechua), one of the most beautiful archaeological sites on the entire Inca Trail. For those who prefer to experience a shorter trek and visit the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, with your first view from the Sun gate of Into Punku this is the perfect option!

NOTE: When Regular Inca Trail permits are sold out
permits for this short Inca Trail are often available.

We will pick you up from your Cusco hotel in the early morning and take you to Poroy train station. Our hike will begin at Km 104 of the railroad. On this short, but beautiful trek we will be able to enjoy spectacular scenery dominated by snow-capped peaks, and there will be plenty of time to visit the fascinating Wiñay Wayna archaeological site. We will have our first glimpse of Machu Picchu, seen from the Sun Gate, or Intipunku. Forty minutes later, we will arrive at Machu Picchu, from where we will descend to the village of Aguas Calientes and your comfortable hotel for the night. BL
