The is a steep mountainous region of extreme relief that served as a jungle border province and later, last refuge for the Inca resisting the Spanish colonization of Peru. On all our Horse Rides no previous horse riding experience is necessary,. We raise and train horses at our ranch in the Sacred Valley of the Incas at the village of Lamay. We own special mountain bred horses descended from noble Spanish Barbs brought from Spain in the 1500s...Crossed with the comfortable but less sure-footed Paso breed our mountain horses give a strong, comfortable ride with greater endurance, stability and reliability needed for steep Inca trails. Although you do not need to be an expert rider, we recommend confidence around horses and we have shorter rids for families and beginners. We give instruction and attention to the less experienced as we travel. Our skilled Quechua speaking wranglers give careful attention to each rider as needed and we finds the right horse for you and care for our mounts while we lunch or hike through ruins..
