On all our Horse Rides no previous horse riding experience is necessary,. We raise and train horses at our ranch in the Sacred Valley of the Incas at the village of Lamay. We own special mountain bred horses descended from noble Spanish Barbs brought from Spain in the 1500s...Crossed with the comfortable but less sure-footed Paso breed our mountain horses give a strong, comfortable ride with greater endurance, stability and reliability needed for steep Inca trails. Although you do not need to be an expert rider, we recommend confidence around horses. We give instruction and attention to the less experienced as we travel. Our skilled Quechua speaking wranglers give careful attention to each rider as needed and we finds the right horse for you and care for our mounts while we lunch or hike through ruins.. We emphasize back-country expeditions to little known Inca archaeological sites and tend to stay away from more popular and overcrowded routes This is exploration of Inca trails on Horseback and ducational journey's to key Inca ruins on quality horses. We follow ancient Inca and colonial pathways through Peru's Sacred Valley including a narrated visit to Machu Picchu… We stay each night in a different comfortable inn or hotel or camp. The focus is learning as much as possible about Andean culture, traditions, history of the Incas and their ancestors while enjoying an unusual, memorable mountain excursion on quality, dependable horses and tack.

Our fixed departures leave on Sundays (6 and 9 days), Mondays 5 days and Fridays (4 days) should you require a private or customized trip for your group only we can of course organize a trip to fit your requirements. The trips use a variety of lodges ranging from rustic to very comfortable. All our leders are bi-lingual biologists and naturalists.
