We’ll be visiting isolated farming communities with stunning views of the Cordillera Vilcanota and visit deep blue high Andean Lake full of waterfowl such as Giant Coots and Andean Geese. As we drop back into into the Lamay valley our horses will pick up speed as they know they are heading home and we’ll arrive at our stables in Lamay in the late afternoon The scenery is unsurpassed, as are our string of horses which are well trained, well groomed and well looked after. Our van will be waiting to drive you to your hotel in Cusco or the Sacred Valley as you wish. L

Sacred valley of the incasWe own special mountain bred horses descended from noble Spanish Barbs brought from Spain in the 1500s...Crossed with the comfortable but less sure-footed Paso breed our mountain horses give a strong, comfortable ride with greater endurance, stability and reliability needed for steep Inca trails. We raise and train horses at our ranch in the Sacred Valley. The horses are no nonsense, experienced, sure-footed, non gaited mountain trail horses affording a secure, comfortable ride on steep pathways.

A short car ride takes us to the historic town of Pisac for the night L:

Day 2:

Stables at LamayA leisurely hearty breakfast with fresh brewed coffee, toast and eggs. To-day we ride to the little known ruins of Huchuy-Cusco. Starting at the bridge in Lamay we head up to the ruins via a wide Andean valley. This is a fascinating ride initially along the Urubamba river and then a gradual ascent to a small plateau commanding a magnificent view of the Sacred Valley of the Incas fro 800 meters above the valley floor. The ruins are of stone and adobe and there is a fine great hall 40m long. This was probably a regional administrative center. As our horses rest and gaze and enjoying a picnic lunch we have plenty of time to enjoy the view and explore the ruins before riding down to the valley floor at Calca where our van will be waiting to drive us to your hotel in Cusco or Urumamba or Pisac.
